The Grosvenor Guest House

I booked this place for my family several weeks in advance for the Aug bank holiday. I confirmed my booking with them via phone & email a week in advance and again 48 hours prior to arriving. On the day in question while driving up, we called the B&B only to be told that our booking had been cancelled but as they had some other rooms, we could have them instead. But the place was absolutely filthy!! The three rooms that we needed were all covered in cobwebs. They all had a musty smell. In one of the rooms(13), as we opened the window to get some fresh air, the window came of the hinges. The carpets had some much dust caked on them, it was like the place had not been vacuumed in three or four years. There were spiders & cobwebs everywhere. The whole place was very nauseating. The only decent thing about breakfast was the coffee. The tea tasted like it was made from the same teabag which had been reused time and time again. The baked beans were served straight out of the tin, totally cold. As it was such short notice, the other B&B’s and hotels were full so we were forced into staying there. Never again!!
