Any Specialist Products or Services? The CLJ Academy of Dance & Drama has, collectively more qualifications than any other performing arts school in the North West. It is also one of the only schools which (in addition to specialists in each major dance style, vocal coaching and drama) brings together all discipline in show classes, teaching students full song and dance routines from all the major musicals past and present. In addition, with the wide ranging contacts of our teaching staff, not least those of Bobby Ball and Casey Lee Jolleys, there is always a vast array of opportunities for our students to compete and perform in a wide variety of proffessional and amatuer stage shows, talent nights, cabarets and competitions.
I somehow find it difficult to understand that I cannot find any qualifications for the voice coach at this school. I have made enquiries with Associated Teachers and other Boards but cannot find anything. I was going to send my kids for lessons there but it worries me that people are teaching without any form of qualification other that they have been singers in the past.
We could not ask for more friendly, welcoming and proffessional teaching staff and yet the lessons are amongst the cheapest of all the dance schools we checked out in the Greater Manchester area (and we checked out a LOT of them). Co-owned by Bobby Ball (of Cannon and Ball fame) and Casey who is famous in her own rights, not only as a world champion many times over in multiple dance styles but also as the presenter of Beachcomber bay and the Thai bride in Coronation Street we half expected the school to be elitist and expensive but from day one you are made to feel like a friend by the owners, teachers, staff and indeed other students and parents. The School has already been doing extremely well at competition level even though it was only opened in April this year and is the home of the current world champion adult street dancing team. In addition the contacts the owners have has meant the students are well placed to get roles in proffessional productions, with the school providing dancers for the Tower FM awards and Preston Panto this year and has provided all round entertainment for a number of the Mayor of Bolton's charity events. Taken into consideration that they teach ALL major dance styles, all to top level AND offer drama, comedy, singing, gymnastics and show classes and you simply could not ask for more and could not be more pleased that we chose to move our two kids to them from their former dance school.
